So i went to an aquarium store today in Taiwan. I wasn't looking for anything specific, but I do want to start up a nano tank sometime. I did stumble upon this cool little canister filter. Its around like the Toms Rapids or the ZooMed 501. The brand is Kotobuki, which is a big aquarium brand in japan. The price however, isnt cheap. It is around $40 US.

Its looks pretty, but the only problem I see with it is that the motor has to be inside the tank itself, unlike the Rapids and the 501 with the motor directly on the filter.

The japanese is : パワーボックスSVミニ
If you want to google it.

Should I give it a try? Or should I get and Eheim 2211 for $63 US. Its cause theres 30% off.

The tank is I'll be using the canister for is around 4-5 gallons.

Why would you want something taking up space in your tank?

Parts for the 2211 are very hard to find in the USA.

You have a point there. Since it is a nano tank, the extra space would be good.

As for the 2211, I probably won't get it because of the lack of parts available.

But I don't want an HOB. I have a tom's rapids, but isnt air tight, which becomes annoying after awhile.

Lots of folks do, check out the nano section. Lots of info there.

What are you using the 2213 on?
