depending on the depth of the tank, i kept mine rather high and connected the adapters directly to the U tube on the aquaclear. In my fish tank, i used this extension to connect the pre filter max III up. both connect up using the same adapters except one siphons water from the lower region of the tank.

Hey guys I was wondering if I was doing this right. I installed the pre filter max 3 by using the elbows and adaptors it came with, but taking out the
"middle man" stock intake piece I am holding that came with the AC70. Was I supposed to install the pre filter on top of that piece, or is what I'm doing okay?
