i have a tank simple tank set up to grow java moss. it has fluval stratum, 2x1 watt t8s, and that's about it. i dose EI every now and again and the moss is doing great. there are no fish in this tank, and only a few pond snails that snuck in.

the issue is i have had a huge outbreak of cyclops. they are completely covering the glass and i can't figure out where they are coming from. i don't add food to the tank and there isn't a huge amount of dead plant matter in it.

anyway, how do i go about getting rid of these? i can nuke the tank pretty easily if it doesn't harm the java moss.

Why do you even want to get rid of them? They don't kill anyone and fish love eating them...

there are no fish in the tank and when i move my moss to the new tank, there will still be no fish. they crawl all over the glass and i don't want to see them anymore :icon_conf

is there a product like flubenzadole or something i could use to take them out?

do you hve driftwood in the tank? It could be slowly decomposing giving the cyclops food.

i do have a piece of driftwood. do you think it would help to remove it?

I would take it out for a week or so, and see if that makes a difference. Did you boil it first?

i boiled it for about 45 minutes :/ maybe they came in on the java moss...

i would but i will be breaking down the tank soon and i don't want to deal with fish when i set up my new tank.
