I went through ditching the gravel in my 10 gallon betta tank today and have only added a few plants so far. Other than the crypts all the stems came from my 20 gallon. Right now I have sunset hygro, cryptocoryne wendtii 'green', rotala rotundifolia, and some rocks with netted riccia that was getting shaded too much in my other tank. I don't know if the hygro will stay in there or not seeing how it likes to take over at ridiculous growth rates.

Anyway, the substrate is fluval stratum, but I am not quite sure what it will do to my water parameters. I still need to figure out the dosing for the tank, maybe very low dosing of dry ferts. The lighting is two 5000K 14 watt CFL bulbs with nothing done to the basic, so called, reflectors. I am pretty much open to any thoughts as to a route I can go with this tank for plants. I've become drawn to the uncommon aquatic plants, but don't know what that would be for low light. I've run out of ideas as to what I can do. Thanks for any input!

Sorry, the dust is was still being filtered out when I took the pictures.

Thanks! It took a bit of work to get it all torn down and set back up, but it was worth the work.

So, the only thought for a foreground plant is marsilea hirsuta, but I think I need something more for the background.
