If it is still in the QT you could add a bit of methylene blue just to make sure infection doesn't set in.
I am also having good luck with colloidal silver on my betta, she had a stubborn infection which seems to be gone now.

I use Tetra medica Fungistop, so it is made for aquariums. Many people take colloidal silver for all kinds of ailments.
I swear by silver based ointments for burn wounds too.


The metronidazole is an antibiotic often prescribed for gynecologic problems in humans, not really needed yet, and something to seriously consider as your old water from the tank, likely goes back into the sewage system of your town.

the least safe option if you don't have an accurate scale, is to cauterise the scrapes with some potassium permanganate.
