Indian almond leaves: antibacterial

Most websites say that there are no studies to back up the magical properties of Indian Almond Leaves. I bumped into an abstract yesterday that I want to share with you: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23885412

The article shows that the leaves are effective against aeromonas hygrophila and a. septicemia. They use extracts of red or green leaves. I'm not sure if that means fresh and dried leaves or the colors red and green in fresh leaves. Also, I am not sure how one would know how many ppm a leaf in a tank may be leaching out into the water, but this seems like good news for the treatment of some fish disease.

I have always been a little skeptical of the claims made for Indian Almond Leaves, but have observed that they seem to be antifungal. I am happy to know they are anti bacterial for some types of bacteria. Any thoughts?
