Hi Guys,
I'm new here. I have kept tropical fish off and on for about 40 years. You know how it is, start with a 10G and then a 20G, then a 29G, and then finally a 55G Hex. I moved to a new apt. and the landlord WOULD NOT ALLOW ANY PETS! So I sold the 55 hex. Finally, bought my own home and after a 10 year hiatus I'm getting back into the hobby. I bought a used 55G reef tank and I want to raise fresh water fish and live plants this time. I want to get away from the phony plants I've used in the past. It has a Lifegard Modular filltration set-up with a RUGF.
Now here's my idea. From what I've read from the different threads about live plants and RUGF that they don't mix. I'm going to try to put my rooted plants in pots and then into the gravel and anchor my stem plants into just the gravel.
Will this work or not?
Thanks for any help, Pat
