These specks have popped up all across my pieces of driftwood. They don't seem to move but maybe not looking long enough at one to detect movement. Any idea what they might be? View attachment 1048853

Any chance you have nerite snails in this tank? If you do, they are eggs.

I don't see any white dots, but the specks are green in color and are either fish poop or fish food.

What fish are in the tank and what food are you feeding?

There are no fish in the tank yet, just introduced some amano shrimp into the tank. There are some snails that must have snuck in on some plant recently added but I don't think they are nerite snails. The objects are closer to brown in color, roughly pellet shaped. They are super soft and smear into nothing when pressed.
