These two pictures are from different angles. Point and shoot camera so
please excuse the lack of focus. Alternia in back of the Crypt.
The Crypt is a Petco special so I don't know what kind it is. But this also
makes me not know if it's normal or defective. I say this because of the
dark color in the center of the plant.
What do you think ? Seems to be growing fairly well.

Sometimes the camera will take great pictures but other times...
I believe the primary problem is that it is auto focus.

When crypts change tanks often the water is different and sometimes leaves will melt. With a different substrate or water conditions crypts may take on a different color than it did in the previous tank. They sometimes need time to acclimate to the new conditions.

Are the leaves that are darker look and feel healthy still?

The entire plant was light green when bought. I don't remember when that was unfortunately but about 4-6 months ago. The dark leaves look healthy. The plant never melted etc and started a new leaf a week after it was planted. It is easilly twice as large as when I bought it.
Since the plant in back of it is hard to see/photograph..it has been in there much less
time, but the new leaves it grew are deformed except for the newest top leaves.
I'd say it's been two months in there.
I can't find any info on too much iron and how it effects plants. This is what I suspect
however as the problem. Only plants/w roots in the sub are effected.
