Tank:
Filtered planted 2 gal jar,
Soil/sand substrate
6500K light above it.
Holds PFR cherry shrimp and a bunch of snails

These creepers don't bother anything, just hanging out on everything that doesn't move. They reproduce by budding, and as far as I can tell, are living off of microorganisms in the water. I'm already planning a Potassium Permaganate dip to pretty much everything in the jar when I shut it down, but I'm really curious as to what these buggers are.

Should I be horribly worried, or are they just creepy?

Hydra, they can sting like jellyfish, also may kill baby shrimp/fry.

Dang, I am missing a few little fry that were accidentally spawned in the tank. Can they sting me? I've squished a few with no injuries, luckily ^^

I'm not sure if they do sting humans or not, or skin may be too thick. As far as getting rid of them I think dog dewormer works...here's a link that may help a bit. http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/showthread.php?t=190438&highlight=dewormer

Among the chemical options are Copper Sulfate and Potassium Permanganate, which can be purchased at your local fish shop.

Permaganate will kill all the shrimp. Let them be or scrape off the glass. They aren't a big deal.

I have them too. They cant sting you.
