I think this will diffuse my DIY Co2...!
I found this whisper filter for 9.99 at petsmart. I am just using the INTAKE tube from the entire thing. I hooked the line from the Co2 bottle, check valve in place, into the intake tube from the filter. I put little slits in the tube in order to make it fit snuggly on the intake of the AquaClear filter. Here are some pics...

Its working great. I just hooked the system up about 10 mins ago and it is already producing bubbles. BUT, everytime a bubble goes up the intake it makes that"swoosh" noise. How can I avoid that. It's in my sons bedroom...aint gonna work. Thought it was brilliant....

There is no way around the noise, your feeding your HOB filter pockets of air.
dont forget to use the check valve, i did not see that in your picture.
hmmm....I know it kinda changes all the plans you had but if you possibly can add a bubble counter to the system so its not pushing the bubble directly up the intake on your filter it would cancel the noise.Nice to see you over here. Unless you could maybe bury the contraption you got under your foam or whatever media you use on the bottom of the filter so its actually inside the filter and not up the intake tube.Make sure you take out your carbon from the media and you'll surely have enough room even with a sponge and bio.It's worth a shot.Otherwise I see no way to avoid that noise being its inside the intake and every time a air co2 bubble releases in to it.
Just thought of another idea as well,return the filter all together and get your cash back,poke a hole into the foam and jam the tube into the foam so it won't fall out and it should allow the co2 to go directly into the foam,hence no more noise.
Any one else correct me if I'm wrong though.It's just a thought...

By the looks of the intake yours appears to be a Aqua clear HOB? If so that filter has a "built in" diffuser. Seen it done and you wouldnt have the "swoosh" noise. Gotta find a pic but where the intake goes down to the propeller their is a purge hole. A airline will fit perfectly in it. you then need to drill a 2nd hole for it to purge properly. theres a small grey plastic piece that is removeable - Thats where the purge hole is.
Ill look for the thread on the guy who thought of it. Assuming yours is a AC HOB....

What about just sticking an air stone onto the end of the tubing and positioning it next to or under the intake? And you could probably just silicone one end of the stone to focus the direction a bit better.
I've personally done the air stone thing and I know many swear by it but mine clogged up super fast and basically shut down the co2 to the tank. I then replaced it with another stone and it clogged again in about 2 weeks.It could have definitely been something I did wrong but thought I'd share my experience with it anyway.What about just sticking an air stone onto the end of the tubing and positioning it next to or under the intake? Yes you can. Ive seen it done, theres a thread floating around where someone used this method on a fluval edge. Just remember that is the purge hole so with it plugged youll have to drill a 2nd hole to allow the filter to purge properly on start up. It will not hurt anything to have 2 holes. I inserted the tube from the Co2 bottle directly in the purge hole from the AC70 HOB filter. I will have to drill a second hole to act as the purge next time I need to utilize the purge. Works very well. keeps the swooshing noise down to a minimum. Gotta alot of pearling now....
