too much light my friend???
its a 30 gallon. I have 1 15W 20"sunglow and two 23W CFL. is that to much?
depends for what you are going....

moss = shadow.... so act !
I killed my java moss by overdosing Excel. But mine turned black, not brown. I lowered my Excel Dose by a lot and it came right back.
Aquariums are funny things. For some reason there always seems to be that one "easy" plant you can't keep alive or that one "easy" fish that always dies on you.

Just seems to be the nature of things. I'd say maybe try java moss one more time, but if it doesn't work out, try something else.
I don't know about too much light I have java moss growing on a floating piece of drift wood at the top of my tank under 3 48 inch 54w NO flourescents and a 110w 48 inch VHO. if it were too much light it wouldnt raft out like it does and force me to trim it constantly.
I finally got mine to grow. I do not even know how many times I have tried. What did I do differently? Nothing. But them again, for some reason my vals are struggling. I just pray to the plant gods and hope for the best.
