In a 10 gallon, you will need really small plants to create proper perspective and proportion. Glossostigma may work but also Hemianthus callitrichoides "Cuba".

Would HC "cuba" grow in gravel substrate? Looking at the image above, his substrate seems to be black gravel.

Based on your set up, I would recommend dwarf hair grass or microswords. The others are too demanding and don't do well without CO2 and a high-tech setup.

HC is a no-no without co2...alas I found that out the hard way :/ *sigh*…but it will grow in gravel and I think the look is good enough to warrant the $30-$40 price of a decent DIY setup for a tank your size...what's stopping you from going that route? DIY, that is.

I would recommend micro swords, Lilaeopsis mauritiana, as well. great looking carpet plant that doesn't have such high demands.
