Hello, i just bought some red cherry shrimps to put into my tank. Tank is cycled, at least i think so because it's running for about 3 months already. Anyways, after 3 days 6 shrimps from 14 has already died on me. Iam kind of new to keeping shrimps so i dont really know what to do :/. I tested my water parameters and results were:
NO3- 30 mg/l
No2- 0 mg/l
Gh- 16°d
KH- 20°d
pH- 8,4
Cl2- 0
Please can someone help me...?

Make sure to measure the ammonia, that should be 0. What temperature is your tank at? Also, how did you acclimate the shrimp to your tank water? Shrimp are sensitive, so it is best to slowly drip acclimate them over 1 ½-2 hours minimum.

The OP didn't list an ammonia test reading, possible he doesn't have the test kit.

Is this the same as saying dGH-16 and dKH-20? Forgive me I've not see it notated that way before.

At any rate, cherry shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) are best maintained at hardness in the following ranges:
dGH 6-15
dKH 0-10
At a pH in the range of:
6.8 - 7.5

You will likely see a fair number fail to thrive at your described parameters. Not to say they'll all die but a KH of 20 is way out of spec. Neocaridina are sometime referred to as the hard water shrimp but this is in relation to the Caridina which have a much lower and much more narrow range (for example C. cantonensis dGH 3-6, dKH 0-1).

Hope this helps.
