could be. the interesting thing is that he has no real tail fin it's sort of a nub fleshy thing. don't know if this is because he got hurt some time in the past but i feel it's to smooth to be scaring.

Do you mean tail fin or caudal fin?

You would be much better off asking on a catfish specialty site such as planet catfish.

The tail and caudial fins can flare or compress like what is shown. Planetcatfish has similar pictures of that pleco.

It looks like a L263 to me. It is in the same genus as the L264 (Leporancanthicus) just a brown color rather than a gray.
