Clever title, eh? So I have been considering buying one of those 60 breeder setups for awhile now. It shares the same 48x18 footprint of the 75. Well, my biggest hurdle to get past is the dilemma of the stand for the tank... So since the tank is in our living room, it has to be a nice cabinet style stand like the one I have for my current tank is. The main problem with that is considering the footprint for stands in that range at my LFS near me is at least 300.... That's a lot of money for me.

Petsmart has some stand setups that I could probably get with my Paypal charge account... But again, still at least 300 dollars.

Any possible suggestions on what I could do? I'm not handy at all so building a stand isn't an option.

Yep. I thought about a dresser... But uh... Thats a lot of weight for a dresser.
Any decently constructed solid wood furniture will not struggle with the weight. Purpose built cheap aquarium stands barely have any substance to them and they hold the weight just fine because the compression strength of wood (even engineered wood) is pretty high. You just need something that is built with proper support. If you are not confident in your ability to figure that out though then you are out of luck.

I agree. find something solid on Craigslist or facebook marketplace. Or local buy/trade/swaps. yard/estate sales. I have done all of these. I literally tell the people, "I am getting this for a big fish tank, mind if I hop up there and dance about?" I'm around 200 pounds so I get a good idea for the structural soundness of the piece of furniture when you do some stuff you saw in Footloose back in the day. Or like Step Up for you younger gens.

I'm in the process of finding a stand for this tank as well. So far I haven't found anything that fits my needs either. I'm not willing to pay for a stand that is cheaply made and I'm unable to pay for a stand that is well made. I do have the DIY skills needed, but was trying to avoid building one. I thought I could use a heavy steel storage rack, but have been unable to find one at a good height. I found a few wood and or metal I liked that would work for a 55, but once you add the dimensions of the large 60g footprint the options for stands greatly decrease.
