I picked up a sprig last week. Unnamed but I'm pretty sure its H.angustifolia and possibly a wavy leaved cultivar. Or maybe they all have that?
Anybody have success in low tech? I do add potassium and iron..keeps all the plants happy if not in explosive growth as in hi tech force fed tanks. I have to wait longer..

I have had good success with H.angustifolia in a low energy setup. The node length was more prolonged , but the plant still grew like a weed.
Except for CO2 injection, I was still dosing Micros and Macros (alt days), excel on daily basis and bi weekly water changes.

Sounds like it's a great plant to have. I did try last year the plain giant Hygro..its never done a thing. The H. angustifolia looks like it hasn't lost a step and looks for now at least perfect.
One thing never mentioned is..sometimes you get a plant that was moved too often,chilled and all the rest when you buy it. My newest Tiger Lotus is THRIVING. I bought it fresh from the LFS,when my first plant was mail order and it was never healthy,grew in microscopic rates. Same tank,same conditions,my newest TL is a racehorse- with much better color to boot.
