Hi, need the help of some plant experts. What's the difference between these two species because leaf shape is so similar. Do they have different looking flowers? Is verticillata shorter than umbellata?

H. umbellata has flowers in a simple unbel(=all attached at the same point).

H. verticillata has flowers in whorls (=verticils) forming an interrupted spike or spike-like raceme or rarely a branched spike.

It's quite literally in their names. This is why I love taxonomy. I do wish there was another way to tell them apart though. I have cuttings of one of them, and I'd really like to know which it is before I plant them.

Thanks for answering my question! Eventhough I posted it a while ago I was still curious.
Looking online the difference in flowering is quite noticeable, thank you for the more detailed explanation though. Taxonomy is indeed fun.
I guess no way to find out than just to try and grow it emersed for a while. :/
