Pennywort which I think is in the same family is edible and sold under another name in grocery stores. It has a peppery taste to it similar to cilantro

interesting, can I just grab a leaf, wash it, and eat it? or does it have to be prepared a certain way.

There was someone on here a few years back that ate a bowl full of plants after this convo came up.

Haven't tried the Hydrocotyle juice, but also Limnophila aromatica is commonly used as a herb in Vietnamese cooking.

I feel like in Thailand, they have every food you need to live. You gotch'er Naner's, your tata's, da corn', all the works!

Water Sprite is used as a salad green in parts of SE Asia.

I never read any traditional recipes with this particular species. I have read Gotu Kola pennywort is very popular in eastern asia.

I did try brazilian pennywort. Tastes like maple leaf with a strong pepper? Flavor. Not a fan. I also tried to get the seeds to sprout. They did not. I might try again.
