I currently have a planted 46 gallon bow front (36" long X 20" deep) with a marine land C360 canister filter and an Aquaclear 70 powerhead(400gph).

I want to replace my aquaclear 70 as it has seen its day and needs replacing.
What is recommended in the Hydor Koralia line? I would like to go with 2 units on either side, either 2 of the nano 240 or nano 425, or one of each. What would you recommend? I may also consider the Hydor wave maker in the future as well. I want enough power to get rid of dead spots, however I don't want a hurricane in there.

On my 46g with a 2213 canister I originally tried a Maxi Jet 600 and found with the propeller it was way too much flow but with just the power head it was fine. However I didn't like the look of the unit in the tank as it is not that large a tank and I was trying to minimize the hardware showing so I switched to a Sicce Syncra 2.0 (568gph) external pump with a 19mm lily pipe and the CO2 on an in-line difuser on its intake line and got just what I wanted for flow, CO2 dispersion, and with the added benefit of getting a good vortex to the lily outflow pipe eliminating any surface scum.

Thanks for the replies! Steve it sounds like you have great set up, I might think about doing that down the road.

I ended up going with a Hydor Koralia 425 and a 240. I just put them in today and it seems to be perfect. The 425 is mounted at the top rear left side and blows towards the glass and aimed a little to the right where my aqua clear used to be. The 240 is down low at the back right side to clear up the dead area.

Hopefully this set up will keep the algae growth down in my dead spot corner.
