Compaired to the ladder YES!!!. My only concern is that ceramic glass diffusers have to have a lot more pressure than the ladder system. My only concern is that maybe the Nutrafin system might not provided this. Worth a shot, I say well worth the $5. Also if you have an external canister filter the inline diffusers are great.
