I am really feeling the Iwagumi phase. I really like the idea of it.

Here are what I am running in the tank and what I have.

Tank: 2.5 gallon
Filter: Red Sea nano Filter.
Substrate: Would like to be recomended one.
Light: ATM I have a HD light that is for a desk I am trying to get a hood.
Plants: I have jova moss and A Anibus *spelling<-* fern maybe. I should know but i dont:hihi: I know thats its fine cuase i have had it in for more than 4 weeks. but I would also like some other suggestions
c02: none.
Fish: a betta halfmoon So that means no pointy leaves or anything that will hurt him :)

I will add more when I learn more:

Anubias is not a fern. Also, it is spelt "Java Moss" ;)

For substrates, you will find that there are many different opinions, ADA Amazonia is a good one to start off with.

I am not too sure what kind of light you have, but I assume it is a compact fluorescent type setup?

thanks for the spelling erorr. And I knew what it was. Then I studied for a math test:confused:

Is the ADA expensive?
I have heard good things about it.

I have had other thanks. So I do know what im doing as far as filters and stuff.
Just not a nano
yes a compact fluorescent
Amazonia by ADA is a really good deal IMO when you consider its useful lifespan. Not having to use root tabs and other substrate nutrient additives is a nice benefit. The Amazonia looks very good and should help you grow things like HC and Dwarf Hairgrass quicker vs an inert substrate or a substrate that has only less nutrients.
Amazonia
You'd probably be fine with just a 3 liter bag for a 2.5 gallon

I like to use the Amazonia powder soil ontop of the regular soil in small tanks. The smaller granules seem to match the "scale" of the tank quite nicely. And the larger soil underneath will help hold down the plants.

IMO dont skimp on the soil. Good soil will last you a long time.
Ok soil down.

I need plants now,
I would like to be able to start em for wee babies
If you're doing an Iwagumi in a 2.5gl or similar tank, you'll probs want to go with smaller species of plants. Java fern, Java moss, and Anubias are going to be too big, even the sp. nana, and will be conflicting in shape/texture against the rocks.

In a tank of that size, I'd do your rock arrangement, with HC in the forground/mid, and then DHG in the back corners, with maybe some marsilea in the middle area, to help make a smoother transition from small/short plants, then to the marsilea/larger lobed leaves, then to the DHG thats taller in the background.
I droped the Iwagumi rock Idea in my 2.5 its not in my shrimp tank.
I have that ready.

But I like your choices is plants.
Now. If Only i didnt have to pay alot of money for them

Definitely! I bought the 3 liter bag for my 3g tank and its more than enough.
Ok great.

Also.
If anyone is interested. I might be breeding a HM plakat that is quite nice. If it goes alright.
It will go in SaS:fish1:

This is awkward - I had a male that looked EXACTLY like that, but with shorter fins.:eek5:
It's beautiful!! I would love to see what kind of babies you would end up with. If anything, you could sell them on here and/or Aquabid.

My bettas seem to really floating plants (water lettuce in particular), so you may want to consider adding some - I guess it makes them feel safer. :D And I really like the look of the roots hanging down in the water.... and all the nutrients they suck up....
Thats not the fish itself FYI I havent bought it from the shop yet and or talked to the other breeder hear.
