My stem plants keep floating away. I've resorted to gluing them to hardscape at the level of the substrate. Any tips?

What substrate are you planting them in, and what’s the depth of the substrate layer? Some substrates such as Fluval stratum are more difficult to plant in once flooded.

I would plant a bunch of stems deep into the substrate using pinsettes and then hold the stem bunch with the other hand as we withdraw the pinsettes slowly and gently. This has helped me in plant in places where the substrate depth is not enough.

Yup, Fluval Stratum. Is there a substrate you recommend I could maybe add on top to help with depth and also traction?

I would not recommend for any topping or mixing with stratum, I have tried with sand and the grains just fall through and eventually the stratum’s granules end up on top.

Try my planting technique with a good set of planting pinsettes and holding the plants down with your other hand. Good luck.
