Take a look at my tank and tell me how to fix this problem please.

I'm thinking i need to clean my BIOwheel 350 but not sure. I literally have been doing 10-15% water changes weekly. Should I try and go for 50%?
Also have 2 28w t5 Bulbs.

What could be the problem?

All the plants and fish are doing well.
4 tiger barbs
3 Jack dempseys
2 plecos

Hairgrass, dwarf lillies, and a onion bulb?

can you explain what your issue is ? the tannins in the water, or am i missing something else?

ahhhh its just tannins? so after awhile they will just disipate after water changes?
I thought it was algae in the water because it has a hint of green to it.

from my screen it looks like tannins from that dw in your tank but if it is green as u say then it can be solved by doing a black out or a few ways use the search button right below personal messages for green water if its tannins just do wc until its clear or get *thebag* made by purigen an it will clear that up in no time.

Yeah, don't sweat tannins. It'll be less noticeable after a few weeks but may leach for a long time. The first few weeks are the worst.

Just took pictures of the tank again after some some filter bags were put in my biowheel.

18 hour difference.

HAHA tannins are no big deal. im setting up a shrimp 10 gallon tank. um the backdrop is matte black substrate is dirt with tan gravel cap.. 4 good sizes pieces of wood and some peat.. BLACKWATER biotope for now... HAHA it goes away though... water changes. activated carbon

Activated carbon will take it out in a few days. But, until the drift wood stops leaching tannis out you'll keep repeating the cycle.

There is a point were too much tannin level is not so good. That's when your water starts to look like some poured in a Pepsi.

imo, tea colored water looks sweet but if you don't like it just stick in some purigen or activated carbon.

you could also remove the wood and boil it to get the brunt of it out.
