How to deal with snails

Only way to totally get rid of them is to restart the tank and nuke it with bleach or something. You can control them by not overfeeding and remove or crush everyone you see.

Haven't tried 'em myself, but I've seen a number of folks tanks taken from over-run to barely populated with pond snails with the introduction of assassin snails. Running an uber-clean tank helps too--limit their food and you limit their population growth.

It's hard to tell from the pic, what kind of snails are you having problems with? As long as it's not Malaysian trumpet snails, you won't have to nuke the tank. Assassin snails can eradicate the tank of the other snails.

However, you're going to need a lot of assassins to eat them faster than they can multiply. You can help by physically removing as many snails as you can and the assassins can work at getting the rest.

It's hard to tell, but it kinda looks like MTS from the picture. Can you take a better picture of the snails?

I am seriously thinking about renting a goldfish for a week.

My 2.5 is snail only right now and my other 3 tanks are currently snail-free.

I am thinking red tiger nerites one each for the other 3 tanks.

Assassins don't eat MTSnails?

I guess setting a trap won't work bc the shrimpies would go for the bait as well?

They do, but because MTS bury themselves inside the substrate, the assassins can never get to them faster than they can reproduce. Assassins will go into the substrate, but not as deep as MTS. Plus, MTS get into the plumbing and filtration. I had baby MTS in the motor of my canisters and inside my uv sterilizers. No other snail does that, only MTS. The only way to eradicate a tank of MTS is to toss the substrate, bleach the entire system, and start over from scratch.

The translucent things are indeed eggs remove as many as you can find. cut down your feeding and then crush/remove as many as you can.
Then if you want to add some assassin snails (four adults should do for the Ebi size) to finish the job.
Some people (very small percentage) have reported that assassin snails have killed shrimp in some cases.
But TBH the pond/bladder snails are good algae eaters and can provide an indicator for overfeeding (increased population)

The eggs are covered all over the glass so I can't see into the aquarium without speckles everywhere. That's why I don't want them

Looks like pond snails. Pretty common, they usually come in on plants. The more you feed the faster they reproduce. I had a handful in my tank and after a while they grossed me out so I manually removed and crushed any I saw. Might not work with as many as you have though. I've read that putting a piece of lettuce into the tank at night will attract them and then you can just remove the lettuce leaf of snails in the morning. I've never tried it though.

I had 8 assassins clean a 36G in about 2 weeks. Actually quite fun to watch!

Almost any bait will work. Try all sorts of fruits and vegetables. Easiest to remove if it floats, but easier for the snails to find if it sinks.
When you find whatever your snails are most attracted to keep on using it.

This will never get rid of them all, but it will remove a very large % of the population.

In the meantime, cut the amount in each feeding in half, and skip one day per week.
