I have been using a Rhinox 2000 diffuser on my 55g now for a couple of months and was wandering if anybody had any experience cleaning these?

Mine has developed an algae covering on it and I am not sure on how to clean it.

Just got your PM.

You can soak it in bleach and then when all the algae is gone, soak it in water + dechlorinator. H2O2 works too, but not as quickly as bleach. I usually soak mine in bleach and then a little H2O2, then water + dechlorinator.

Thanks for the advice.

Will you be shipping the other Rhinox 2000 for me?

Remember, don't soak it in pure bleach. Use a lot of water, bleach doesn't work as well by itself. And, a little goes a long way.

Pretty much any ratio within reason will get the job done. Mine is approximately 1:4.

What can be used as the dechlorinator after it has been soaked in the bleach/water mix? Maybe stress coat or amquel?

Thanks
