Hello I have a 250ml bottle of seachem purigen and was wondering how much of it I should use for a 30 litre tank? I have the chemi bag and stuff but im not sure because on the bottle it says 250ml treats 250gallons which means I should technically do 1ml of powder per 4 litres (this is hardly anything!).

Please help, thanks

I think you can put as much in as you want. The more you have, the longer it takes for it to need recharging. You're not dosing with this, and the 250ml = 250 gallon is just to ensure people use enough product to get useful life (~ 4-6 months between recharges).

Try to make/shape your mesh bag to fit well into, and cover as much of the cavity of the filter you're placing it into. I have found the best success by having the thickness level of purigen in the bag about 1/4" to 1/2", to allow water flow to penetrate through the Purigen particulates as much as possible for best effectiveness.
Also, be sure the bag is very fine mesh, otherwise you'll have Purigen all over your tank.
I find it nevessary to double bag to prevent dispersal of the Purigen.
