how much lighting

i have a 60 gallon planted tank, 42L x 18W x 18 H, how many watts would you recommend? what kind of lighting? please give details or information

Do some research...figure out what you are going to do with the tank first, then ask about lighting.

what do you plan on planting??
crested java fern( on a large piece of driftwood in the centre ), and some kind of 'carpet' plant, such as 'glosso' Glossostigma elatinoides. Lighting is the one aspect of aquarium keeping that always has me confused weather i have enough, too much or not enough.

I would shoot for 200+ watts of good lighting....Compact Fluorescent/T5/Metal Halide and Pressurized Co2
