I just turned down my lighting from 260W to 130W. How long should I keep it on? I used to have it on for 8Hr when it was at 260W. Maybe I can keep up w/ my plants demand by reducing the light. Im doing the EI method. Just started dosing 1/4tsp KNO3 recently & 1/8 KH2PO4 & K2SO4. Thanks in advance to any replies.

Mostly black spots on the Amazon leaves that you can't even rub off:icon_mad: & GSA on the glass. And only now I noticed some thin strands sticking out from my pennyworth w/c I haven't had before.

Get 2 timers - keep 130w the whole 8 hours (10am-6pm), and the second 130w on 4 hours midday (1pm-4pm).
I wish I can do that but i only have one cord on my fixture (old style). Do you think my dosing is enough for the plants. Right now 130W is looking to dim for me probably gotten use to all 4 bulbs on:hihi: Thanks.

you havent said what your dosing schedule is. Usually black spots or tufts is BBA (lack of CO2 or unstable CO2 levels) and GSA is usually lack of phosphate (or phosphate can't be absorbed because there's something else that's limited). Let us know what your fert schedule is.

My fert schedule is:
Sunday-50% water change (1/2 KNO3, 1/8- KH2PO4 & K2SO4)
Mon-Wed-Fri- 1/4 CSM+B
Tues- Thurs- 1/2 KNO3, 1/8- KH2PO4 & K2SO4

Note: I only started this dosing & schedule just last week. I used to not dose KNO3 thinking the fish waste will supply the Nitrate (w/c I found out is not the case). I maintain my PH @ 6.2 to 6.3 w/ CO2 on. Thanks.

obet; if you do 130w for 10 hours
your GSA will probably get worse.
better to do 260w for 6-7 hours.

Would that (260w for 6-7 hours) lighting period be enough for the Plants??? If I were to maintain the 130W how many hours would you suggest??? Thanks.

I've recently changed my lights from 192 for 12 hours a day to 384 for 6 hours a day (similar situation as you on a larger scale in a 125), and the plants are growing just fine.

Also according to Craig's dosing sticky you are dosing double what you need of the Plantex CSM+B.

_Dosing Regime's_ said:
Tank's (2)
40~60gal
50%H20 change-weekly
+/-1/2Tsp KN03 3x a week
+/-1/8Tsp KH2P04 3x a week
+/-1/8Tsp K2S04 3x a week
+/-10ml Trace 3x a week
+/-2-4ml Fe/Iron 3x a week

If you choose to dose Plantex dry here is a formula.. Thanks jgc
