I'm thinking about switching to a buffering aquasoil for my next tank and am trying to get a good understanding of how best to manage them.
I know that they buffer kH to 0 and drop the pH in the tank to somewhere in the 6s and at some point the buffering capacity suddenly wears out, but I don't know the mechanism behind the buffering. Can someone explain how this works in a little detail?
