Ok, bare with me here as I will try to explain this in the simplest way I can without anyone getting confused.

How do you make a link to a thread or website without having the actual link showing. Example....I notice people have links to there fish journals but instead of having a huge ugly link showing it will say something like "my 10 gallon fish journal" which you can click on and it will take you to the thread etc. Like a disguised link or something.

Sorry I'm computer illiterate, need to learn some things.

This is what the URL tag looks like. The destination address goes in the opening tag and whatever words you want go in between.
HTML:
[URL="http://www.plantedtank.net/"]Planted Tank Home Page[/URL]
That bit of code will look like:
Planted Tank Home Page

You can do this faster if you click the button with the globe and chain link
, paste in the address, press enter. The text part will be highlighted already with the address as a placeholder so you can just go ahead and type your text.

ok thanks, Ill give this a shot.

Hmmm it says page not found.

This is the link I am trying to use. http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/fish/98199-few-pics-fishroom-added-more.html

Then this is what you want to type:

HTML:
[url=http://www.plantedtank.net/forums/fish/98199-few-pics-fishroom-added-more.html]Pics of Nismo's fishroom[/url]
I'll copy and paste that exact code below so you can see that it works:

Pics of Nismo's fishroom

Also, here's a tip for you: whenever you see someone else post something using some vB code, and you don't understand what they did, you can always click the "Quote" button, like you're gonna reply to it, and in the quote it will tell you exactly what the person typed in his or her post. Hope that makes sense to you.
