How can I make my snails make more babies?

Um, I don't know what's wrong but I can't get my Ramshorn and Trumpet population to increase. I reduced feeding them to my Assassins from weekly to monthly quite a while ago, so that the population have more chance to mate and lay eggs before they meet their fate.

I feed them one whole Aqueon Algae Round everyday or leaves of spinach or kale, the temperature is 78*F, and there are some plants. Their shell is melting away pretty bad, so I added a small amount of crushed coral. Sometimes I occasionally give them a piece of my very expensive homemade shrimp food.

I'm getting some more Ramshorn from Betta Maniac, and s/he said maybe give them something other than algae wafers.

Add calcium, for starters. My ramshorns explode in hard water.

Shrimp thrive works well. Lots of crushed coral and lots of food. You can overfeed the heck out of theml...... they are pest snails, they thrive in that.
Oh okay. Well I'm poor now cuz I splurged all my holiday monies lol, so I can't buy your Shrimp Thrive or any more crushed coral for a while... maybe til Chinese New Year if they still give me money, unless I miraculously somehow get a job.

I will try giving them a bunch of Spinach and Kale in the meanwhile. Or maybe I'll stick one of the cuttlebones my sister's bird doesn't eat. Hopefully they can hold out until I can get some calcium stuff... their shell is already melting bad here in Fort Collins water, I can only imagine it gets worse in Longmont. :(
Just overfeed them and keep the water clean. You'll have so many, you'll wish you hadn't.
Maybe you'll get some shrimp thrive in the mail tomorrow....

You have really soft water so be sure to add some calcium in some way. And over feed those buggers.

Okay, don't worry... I'm sure I can handle them!! buahahahaha, I just put in a big leaf of red kale for them to munch on, that's a bajillion times bigger than an algae wafer. So hopefully everyone can eat til their stomach almost pop.

Ah okay, thanks so much!!

Looks like my soft water and not enough food can tame your spawn of the devil Ramshorns and Trumpets. The older ones aren't red any more since they got too many pock marks from their shell melting away, so those go get fed to the Assassins.
ur missing one very important thing.

Lol that too I guess. xD I'll cut the feeding to the Assassins even more then, and feed them some some chicken or beef or something in the meanwhile.
Lol. You need mts snails?

I can go on a rampage in my tank and get you a few hundred if you want.

Just pay shipping.
I do need, but I only have $7.23 left before my account minimum is reached, and trying to save it to secure a potential plant trade. I will let you know, thanks!
Hopefully the ones I'm sending today will continue to breed for you. I'm overwhelmed with the [email protected] things! I'd like to figure out how to get them NOT to breed. I was so disgusted last night that I just yanked out all the infested watersprite and stuck it in the bag, LOL!
Feed cheap flake food. The high protein will grow them fast. Don't worry about their shells as you aren't looking for pretty snails.
Sry to be off topic but Ft. Collins is an awesome place to live! I was there this summer to visit a friend, you wouldnt know a certain stud named Kyle Page would you? We went tubing down the Poudre with a couple bags of wine, it was great.
You could put some egg shell into the tank for calcium.
You can put them in a tank with tons of lighting and no CO2. They love algae and biofilm.
