I've tried few times with Tigers (regular, imported) and failed every time, they lasted up to 3 days max, turned pink and died. Maybe temp was too high? 74+, it's a RCS Tank
PH 7.2
KH 5-6
GH 6-7
TDS 185

I recently acquired some YKK's (might be TT x KK mix?) and they've been fine for over a week now.

I have play sand as substrate, ~150 TDS, 5 GH, ~ 4.5? KH, pH 7.5+, and so far no deaths. They aren't breeding, either, but then again, the adults I received are all males and the juveniles? Don't know. I haven't been keeping track of the temperature of the tank, but right now it's sitting at 69°.

They came from a tank with a buffering substrate and remineralized RO so different water parameters... pH 6.2 to 6.5 gh 4 to 5 kh 0 tds 150 to 175.

Would definitely recommend lowering the temperature! And possibly lower your parameters just a tad?

What substrate are you using?

I'm using regular black gravel, neutral,my KH is little bit high, but I have few mineral rocks in the tank, my tap water( don't use RO) is pretty soft, need it smthg to rise parameters
It could be the gravel then, if it's from Petco.... I know that Neos don't really like the gravel, maybe Tigers are more sensitive to it?

I have soft tap water as well... and have to add something to it to make it acceptable for shrimp. Not using RO either.
