Anyone been to Hoffer's Tropic Life in Milwaukee? I heard it's definitely worth the drive, great plant and fish selection.

been there a few years ago and it is/was far superior to any other store. Tons of reptiles and tons of fish. But that was in my reptile days so I can say they had tons of fish but I could not venture to comment on quality etc. I do remember they had good looking discus. I would guess that the fish section at hoffers was about 3x that of aquarium adventure in hoffman estates

I am going to Aquatic Clarity in Wisc. ( the guys with the driftwood ) next week. Apparently the guy is also a breeder and plant seller. I will also swing by Hoffers and post a review.

Tell them they need to start bringing plants to the swap! Or possibly get a list of what he has so we can pre-order from him?

Yeah, well when we saw him, I had no idea he had livestock of any type. Looking at his website gave me quite a different impression.

Hoffer's is a nice store to shop in. If you plan on buying I would go to Aquatics unlimited. Prices are cheaper and the plant selection is bigger and better at AU. The kids just love going to Hoffers though, so if you have kids be sure to go there. AU seems to have more knowledgeable sales people too. I come from Fond du Lac WI so we usually go to both as long as we are in town.
Where is Aquatic Clarity?

Aquatic Clarity is just north of Milwaukee. I saw him (the owner) at the GCCA swap where he was selling driftwood and lots of other aquarium supplies. AQ, to my knowledge, does not have a "store". His wife told me they basically operate out of their garage or outbuilding.

Not familliar with Aquatics Unlimited. Where are they located? Since Im heading up that way, might as well make a day of it haha.

aquatics unlimited is right in greenfield, its definitely the store to go to if your going to make a purchase

Aquatics Unlimited
Address: 3550 South 108th Street, Greenfield, WI 53228
Phone:(414) 543-2552
Hours:Thursday hours 10:00 am–9:00 pm - See all

If your looking for a couple hours to kill then go to hoffers. They literally have EVERYTHING. They have a gator pit, killer reptiles, they do have a lot of tanks and plants but its nothing great as far as quality(big selection though)
