Is mine broke? Updated to PRO and all, but you need at least 2 to get good coverage on a 20 gallon long. Kind of stupid. My Beamswork Penta puts out way more light than this. The only thing going for it is the built in BT custom programming. If you get 2 your better off buying one Fluval Plant 3.0 for a few more bucks. I purchased this light so I can lower the light strength output for my slow growing Anubias and Crypts without farming an algae colony, but at full blast its a lot less light than the Beamswork Penta. Don't get me wrong I like the custom 6 point light programming and such, but what I've researched folks say that one of these would be fine for a 20 gallon long. Please correct me if I'm wrong. This is just what I'm experiencing. If anybody out there has experience with this light on a 20 gallon long let me hear ye.

PS. It does give my aquarium a nice natural SA biotope look with the Ember and Neon Tetras swimming around. lol

Hmmm. AFAICT few have discussed the Aquasky. Most refer to the 3.0 (or older similar models)

Fluval AquaSky 2.0 LED Aquarium Light 24-36" and 18W

On paper adequate but no barn burner for a 20L..

Beamswork 30" is 40W.. 4000 Lumens Better be brighter..
SAME size:
3.0 is 2350 Lumens
Aquasky 1250 lumens

Minor caution on correlating eye brightness to plant brightness..

Yeah, of course I didn't go that deep into light specs. I was expecting something from reading some things without doing the research myself, but hey that's what men do Amiright?:grin2:

It would be nice if they had some size specific lights like 30" that would cover the full length of the tank, but I guess that would be asking a lot. I'm getting used to it. I guess this light at full blast for several hours is fine for my slow growing Anubias, and Crypts, and maybe slow down my Vals for less pruning. I'm at 9.5" from light to substrate so this light might be just right. The Beamswork was just way to much light for this. I would like to see what kind of light program folks are using with this light and similar type plants. (as mentioned in another thread I started)

Thanks @jeffkrol, I think I'll stick with the Fluval. Looks like the light intensity will be perfect for my low light plants even at max brightness. I diddled around with the settings a little bit, and found a program that might work and keep my algae to a minimum. Also it makes my 20 gallon look like a SA dark water biotope with the Neon and Amber Tetras swimming around.

Update

I raised the light about 4 inches, and it covers the whole tank so now it's a great light. Bought the 48-60 inch version for my 55G last week and it lights up the whole tank.

Hi @Boostr,

Here is something else that is not underwhelming - dropping the end of the fixture in your tank, letting it dry, and it works fine. I know - I did it (not on purpose).

Lol, I dropped the whole light in the tank dried it and still worked...
