Can anyone recommend a 'bar' type light for high light demanding plants that would sit on a rimmed tank ( as my Fluval 3.0 does)? I'm looking for something on the lever of Chihiros or Twinstar.
I just started searching, but all I see are for rimless tanks, pendant or 'spot' types.

I like my Twinstar S series. I have the hanging model, but they do make an adjustable leg model. Be sure and get the WayToGo controller/ dimmer for it; see the video on YouTube on it.

Thanks. That may be my only option. Maybe I should research more and go with 2 spot type lights. Anybody have experience with AI Prime Freshwater? Would it work well for high light demanding plants?

What tank are you looking for this light to go on?

If you're looking for a "spotlight" type light look into SBreef lights they will give you enough par at the substrate to turn green plants yellow if you wanna go that high of par.
All of my rotala have started turning red/pink with 10-20ppm of No3 in the water column, even the ones that have only been green since I got them.
I have 2 of the 18" basic fixtures over my 55 gallon. For $284 I don't know if you can find a better setup that can go up to 266 par at the substrate outside of DIY.

I have a 46 gallon bowfront. I would need 2 spotlights. I like some of the higher end bunch plants. Many of the bunches I can grow now ( like ludwigia) tend to get spindly at the base

Would the SB Pro 32" freshwater fit on my 36" bowfront (it is rimmed)? I am interested in growing mostly high requirement bunch plants such as Ammania, R. Macandra and other high end Rotala. I assume this light would be sufficient

I think you would be fine.

I just borrowed a friends PAR meter for mine (recently moved my tank), and have the lights hung about 10" over the tank. At 22" of water depth, I was getting 60 PAR with both light channels as low as they would go. I have no doubt that these things could push 200 PAR on max.
