I received a few stems of Hydrotriche Hottoniiflora a couple of weeks ago. They received some shipping damage because the heat pack didn't last and they got cold but the roots were good and they actually looked great. I soaked them for a day in clean dechlor. water to be sure no pests and all the leaves fell off except for new growth at the tips.
Now I'm left with long stems and tufts on the ends.
What do I do with them now to get the look good again? They are still not fully rooted into the substrate and uproot easily.

Float them? How is that going to make them full? They are already planted in a safe place.
I suppose I will need to trim them when they get rooted good and reroot the cuttings; I probably answered my own question!
