Help stock my 20L

I know this can be vague and it can be difficult to really make suggestions for these threads not knowing what the OP prefers, but try to just get creative with this one. I'm really leaning towards a species only tank of dwarf puffers, but that can be swayed by a good suggestion.

Try to get creative, so something different whether it be an oddball or just something uncommon. No inverts for this tank, besides the ramshorns and MTS that are already in there.

You might consider Boraras - either Boraras Briggitae (Chili Rasboras), or Boraras Maculatus. They grow to barely 1/2" to 3/4" max., and you could have up to 2 dozen in that size tank. Lovely little fish - check them out.
I need help as well stocking my 20 g tank. I have two apistogrammas, 1 GBR, 4 danios, and 4 praecox rainbows. I will soon donate the danios (they're not my favorite fish), and get two more of the praecox. I really want to add 5-6 threadfin rainbows, but I'm
Nervous that my tank will be overstocked. Also looking to add an algae eater. Maybe a ghost shrimp? Or Otto?
You won't be overstocked with 5-6 extra threadfin rainbows, if that's what you want.
There are lots of other alternatives though - what kind of fish do you like ? Tetras ?
If so, there are a lot of options - or, are there any particular type or color of fish you fancy ? Give us some clues, and perhaps we can better help out with a selection.
Shelldwellers are on my short list of tanks to set up. Mudskippers would be different as well but would require setting up a brackish vivarium. Might not be the direction you're interested in going, but those are two options I would consider.
Sparkling gouramis!

And/or, pygmy cories and something cool with them.

I considered shelldwellers. Mudskippers would be awesome and I've always wanted to set a tank up for them, and will one day. Just not at the moment. I actually have this 20L established and planted already. Just waiting for fish.
