I have some red find tetras and this morning one of them was swimming sideways. I looked closer and his tail seems to be really dark red and swollen. He scales in the area seem to be lifted too. What could this be and how could I help him?

Currently I have him on a separate container in sea salt... I'm not sure if he'll make it though. Other than his tail the rest of him seems to look okay. They other guys are all perfectly fine and not showing any similar symptoms.

Raising the temperature will help. Stay within reason; if it is already at 76 degrees, raise it slowly to 82. This will lower pH, and help it heal. If it is already at 82 degrees, don't raise the temp very much if at all. Make sure there is a bubbler/air.
