I have a 20 long that already has 20 neons, but i have recently wanted to add some cory cats. Would i be able to add any to this tank or am i pretty much stocked up on fish? and if i can add some, which should i get and how many.

Tank is moderately planted with a eheim 2213 filter.

Dwarf cories are awesome, small bio load and won't hurt shrimp.you can and should get a small school
Never heard of those till now! Where can I find some of those?!?! Perfect for shrimp tank!

pygmy corydoras and corydoras habrosus are most common and I got mine from local fish store
Guess everyone has better lfs options than I.
I have never seen micro-Cory in any in our 3.

I like sterbai cories myself. They are more expensive but they are the cutest of the cories imo.
Sterbai need warmer water than most. Cory sp. similis are nice and they stay smaller. I have a few paleatus and they're neat too. Pygmy corys would be perfect for a 20g if you could find them. Black corys are cool too, but extremely rare.

What temperature do you keep your sterbais?

Don't know where you are in Texas, but several of the DFW stores regularly stock pygmies. Ask one of your local stores, they can probably order them in for you.

I don't keep them personally but they are usually kept in warmer tanks. 82+. That is why they are a good option for a discus tank since they can handle 85*.
I'll have to check with the box stores. Tried the mom and pop today to no avail but thanks for the Intel I'll give it a shot....later ....when wife is done being mad about all the recently acquired plants lol oops!

Corydoras habrosus are active, cute, and low bio-load. Our local petco (in SE North Carolina) regularly sells them for a buck. I'd recommend you get a half-dozen or so if you can find them.
My petco must be useless. I never see these.

I think that Petco is a national fish store not local. when I see lfs, I think about stores other than petsmart, petco and walmart.
Ditto: Petco is useless.
If the Mom 'n' Pop stores cannot order them, try on line.
Have done. getting a hold of the recommended ex sponsor i believe it was?
Got a tentative reply so all should be well!
And I have the 2 box stores and 1 mom and pop.
So my options are limited.
Appears online ordering it will be!:fish:
So what did you decide? I love my pygmys!
i was shocked to see sterbai at my local petco. didn't look healthy but they had them.... personally i am big fan of the Panda cory.

Don't you have any like private fish stores that is "all" about fish and no other animals? You should look on google and if you can find one, you'll be amaze at how much more they stock than petco...
Some of us don't have the luxury of a quality local mom and pop fish store (wish we did!). Feel out the big pet stores in your area and you might get lucky enough to find one with a good aquatics dept. and knowledgeable employees.
Good luck w/your online shopping.
