Help identifying invaders on Anubias

1145 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Chzcat
Hi, I have a 10g low tech setup, 6500k full spectrum led lights, mainly Anubias, ferns, bulbs and some easy planted like wisteria. Added some java moss from my local.aquaculture store and 48hrs later I have an explosion of tiny white worms on my glass not sure if planaria or rhobdocoela yet as they are tiny.
Also noticed these in the picture on my Anubias, they are brown in color and some white, almost a c shape? Does anyone have an idea what they could be. I've had these in the past when starting a new planted tank (always Anubias in a lower light setup even if the tank was cycled before addition) and they usually go away as the tank acclimates to the plants and regular cleaning, never had these in am established planted tank and worrying they might be hitchhikers related to the worms.
Any help appreciated.

Thanks, that makes sense as I had some snail hitchhikers I have been slowly knocking down that arrived on the original plants despite quarantine and dips!

What did you use as a dip?
I used an Alum dip, was too scared to try bleach. Usually I try to buy TC plants to avoid hitchhiking eggs as I'm not sure the alum dips work well for eggs. The worms exploded after adding some java moss which I didn't dip.
