I think he may be a halfmoon, but his tail looks injured to me. Here is Finn, my red rosetail halfmoon for comparison

At first I thought those were just dust spots on the glass but looking closer at the pictures at least some seem to be on the fish, not glass. I hope I'm wrong.I cant help identify the fish. But I think its worth pointing out that in some of the images you have there it seems like the new arrival could have ich. Difficult to say for sure, but I see white spots in the the first, third and fourth photo posted.

I believe the white spots are just dust outside the tank, they're never in the same spot on the fish body/fins from shot to shot. Having several curved glass bowl tanks myself I can attest to them being dust magnets! At first I thought those were just dust spots on the glass but looking closer at the pictures at least some seem to be on the fish, not glass. Thank you all for posting. The spots were indeed on the glass and not the fish. I've had one experience with Ich in the past (years ago and not in any of my current tanks). It was not pleasant. If you can get a flare that would be helpful.he's gorgeous! What size tank is it, it looks beautiful.
