this stuff is growing on everything in my tank. im thinking its a mix with staghorn, diatoms and bba. but im not too sure. its texture is soft and cottonish. and grows in clumps. heres are some pics.

on the sand.

on the root of blyxa japonica

and on moss

any suggestions on how to get rid of the algae? any tips and comments would be appreciated.

Tough for me to ID. I think it could even be bacterial growth. On the sand it looks almost like "biofilm".

I'd suggest patience. You can suck out bigger pieces, like the one on the blyxa roots.

Things like this often happen in new tanks, and IME just letting it run its course often cures the issue all by itself.

Can't really tell from the photos. Not seeing the staghorn reference though. Your tank looks new. If I were in charge , I'd cut back the lighting a bit, and wait it out.

i dont know if its bacteria...i dont think bacteria colonies form cotton looking clumps. i ahve bga for sure though. im about to take my tank apart...
