Whenever you add guppies to a tank that is smaller ( unless all male) you have the potential to overrun the system.
I think you are fine if all male guppies; but, like has been mentioned, stocking heavily means more frequent water changes. I tend to stock my tanks on the heavy side as well and do 50% water changes weekly to ensure fish stay healthy.
