I would like to get a plant for in front of ship. It would have to grow straight up and grow on top of water column. I can't find anything myself. I would appreciate any suggestions.....

An Italian Val or Jungle val would prob do what you want it to. They will grow to the surface and kinda bend over.

I absolutely like the tiger loctus I have one growing behind the stump. It's about half way up the stump.
I thought banana plants where foreground or med ground.
I forgot to mention the height of this area is 24".
