I love clown loaches and I’m concerned about two of the four. Two of the clown loaches are upside down at the surface of the tank between the filter outlet and the back of tank. There are lots of places for them to hide, including a cave, but they stubbornly stay even when I put my finger in front of them. All of the loaches are small; maximum length is four inches. I checked online and this forum and found some articles about their various behaviors, including mating, but didn’t find anything helpful. The tank’s water parameters seem good.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a tank to quarantine them. Please help. Have anyone seen this behavior before?

Not sure if this helps but my yoyo loaches look like the dead when they sleep. They will lay on their sides, upside down, and don't wake as quickly as you'de think.
