I have never replaced any of my tanks lights before they all came with the kit. This is my first time setting up a planted tank and I want to make sure the plants I chose will do well but I don't want to spend more than $40 on a light. The tank size is 10 gallons.

So I any recommendations for specific light fixtures?

Assuming 20" tank width..

May want to break the budget w/ this:

W/ simple on/off and considring a weaker (though adequate for your tank) light.

thanks for the reply.
I just looked and there are a lot of nicrew plant lights. is this the best one for low light? I could spend a little more to get some thing better.
The plants will be, dwarf saggitaria, water wisteria, contortion vallisneria, moneywort, and ludwigia repens.

Bump: yes the length is 20in

The no crew led has more ratings on Amazon. What is the difference between the two?

Mindak and Nicrew?
Mindak 11W Nicrew 14W.

Nicrew has more red diodes.
Mindak has w/r/b mode w/r mode

3 LIGHT MODES: White+Blue+red LEDS on,white+red LEDS on and only blue LEDS on
Nicrew all leds, or just blue leds.

Both have 8,10,12 timer mode..

Need to go through the fine print

20w beamswork in your shallow tank could produce about 100 par, more or less, at the substrate.

Point is most any 1w/gal led
is more than adequate.

Dimming may be more critical.
