Helanthium tenellum 'green' maintenance?

2564 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  longgonedaddy
This supposed slow growing groundcover is actually incredibly quick growing!

Unsure whether to trim it back to the ground or uproot the whole carpet and replant just fresh sprigs (NOT my preference!)

Or can anyone suggest a better way to deal with this beast? It can't it be left as is.

Wishing I could add a pic somehow.

I don't know who told you it's slow. But they lied.

Trim off the runners leading to the areas you don't want it. Pull out the plants where you don't want them. RAOK or compost them. Leave the established plants where you want them. Repeat in three weeks.

Thanks. Yes they did lie!
Initially I appreciated the rapid growth.

It says right on Tropica.com, Growth Rate: slow

It is a great green color so will keep it.

You could let it grow wild, and have a thick, intertwined jungle that your small fish will love!
