Well with all the advice here on this forum I feel like, provided you take heed of that advice, it's very hard to run into problems. People seem to come here to resolve those problems, and quickly realise that there is a wealth of knowledge and information to assist you through this journey. Of course, there is a lot, and it's complex. But in order to understand how to navigate your way through it just takes a little time that's all!

But nothing prepared me for the patience required to wait and to allow the time for processes to take place. However, with the right approach, things will work out OK.

Very true Richard. Patience is a fishkeepers best friend. Research in advance makes things much easier and often prevents new fishkeepers from giving up if something goes wrong.
