Have a question about the silicone on my tank

Trying to figure out what’s going on with the silicone on my tank. It appears like it’s been eaten away a bit. Not sure if this is a natural occurrence as I’ve had this tank for 5 years. Anything to be concerned with?

Just the thin part of the silicone detaching from the glass and algae getting underneath. Personally I don't care until there's bubbles in the silicone in between the glass panes.

Thank you
Common issue. Probably more common in cheap tanks (like I use). Marineland, aqueon, etc. The kind Petco sells.

It usually starts happening within a few months of being set up. I built a tank about 4 years ago and the silicone looks as good as the day I filled it. Based on that, I assume it's a quality of manufacturing issue. High volume production at a low price...

It can look ugly, but I've never had leakage from it.
